🏀 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Egr Valve Problems
This is my second 2011 Mk2.5 1.6 TDCI (the first was written off a couple of years ago by some f**kwit running a red light!) and the EML is on. Forscan reads this as P042F EGR valve stuck closed. I've back probed the connector and have the following readings: Pin 5 ground - checked for continuity to good earth - OK
Hi Richard, I've just finished replacing the turbo oil-feed pipe and the injector seals on my 54 plate 1.6 TDCI. Part of that was getting the EGR off. The EGR is easiest to access after removing the bulk head extension, battery, fuel filter and the aluminium bracket that holds the fuel filter (3 bolts onto the block - not the steel cage that you've already removed to remove the fuel filter).
True Ford Enthusiast. 279. Name: Dave. Ford Model: Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 110BHP. Ford Year: 2008. UK/Ireland Location: Clare. Posted November 20, 2014. Having a strange problem with my Mk2.5 Focus 1.6 TDCI. Of recent I find that if I accelerate heavily the car doesn't seem to pick up speed properly, this isn't always the case however it's only
This could well be the issue with this car with the very slight tapping when it's warm, the engine won't be running at optimal temp which could cause it to run a tad noisier. I'll see if it's the cause of this one too. If not, it could simply be the injectors as you've said.
Only problem is now every morning I go out start the car it starts and dies like it’s not got fuel. Won’t start again until I bleed it 1 or 2 times and then it isn’t straight away, Iv not tried turning it off then on again after started until iv drove it and warmed the engine thinking that might help it a bit.

It's purpose is to allow coolant to run round a by-pass when the thermostat is closed. This ensures even cooling and prevents hotspots forming. When the thermostat opens the by-pass is closed off.
Hello! I have a Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI, model year 2009 that showed me an fault code of the ECU, P042F that means something like stuck EGR valve. So i removed the EGR valve and cleaned it out there was not much soot and reinstalled it. Worked for about 5 kilometers and then it trow the code again and derated the engine.
Symptoms of IC failure are: Odd lights like ABS, Steering, ESP coming on for no good reason; Dashes in the odometer display; Immobiliser failure with flash code 16. It does not usually make the engine cut out once running, but this is possible. I would check with a code reader for EGR codes.
Hi new member here so go easy I've plunged into getting rid of my old fiesta and getting a MK2 ford focus 55 plate the car is in mint condition all titanium Interior 82000 miles but bought it cheap as egr was faulty. So I took it all out cleaned it tested that it was moving and it did so put it b
You need to reset the values with forscan or your car will keep coming up with fault codes and go into limp mode, disconnecting the battery will not work.. I blanked the egr off on my 2011 1.6 TDCi mk2.5 and never had an issue in the 5 years it's been fitted.
2. Clogged Purge and EGR Valves. Stuck or clogged fuel tank valves is a common problem seen in many engines, including the Ford 1.6 TDCI. The fuel tank purge valve is responsible for controlling the flow of fuel vapor from the fuel tank to the engine.
A: Yes, a faulty EGR valve can cause a vehicle to fail an emissions test. It can affect the levels of nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions. It is important to have the EGR valve repaired or replaced before undergoing an emissions test. In Conclusion. To fix a stuck EGR valve, the first step is to check the engine’s vacuum hoses.
The pinout for the 1.6 EGR is below, though this is from a Focus wiring diagram. But I think the valve will be the same. If I could not clean or repair it, I would buy the cheapest one I could get, off eBay. If it did'nt work, you should get a refund. No point in wasting cash on an annoying and not very essential bit of kit.
For Ford to diagnose the EGR/oomf fault they have stated they will likely need 2 mechanics to drive it around for a couple of hours, So I am then thinking that is ÂŁ480 before they even get to fixing the issue and starting to panic slightly as just spent about ÂŁ800 on the car (ECU issue), as well as the MOT about 2 months ago (new fuel
